Please read these terms carefully before applying for the Delivery Man position at Potolo.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Potolo! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your application and potential engagement as a Delivery Man with Potolo ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). By submitting your application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Delivery Man Role & Responsibilities
As a Potolo Delivery Man, you will be responsible for:
- Order Delivery: Safely and efficiently delivering customer orders to designated addresses within specified timeframes.
- Customer Service: Providing professional, courteous service to customers during pickup and delivery.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensuring your delivery vehicle (motorcycle, bicycle, car, etc.) is in good working condition and meets safety standards.
- Route Optimization: Using GPS and navigation tools to determine the most efficient delivery routes.
- Order Verification: Confirming order accuracy before pickup and ensuring proper handling during transport.
- Communication: Maintaining contact with dispatch, customers, and support teams regarding delivery status and issues.
- Safety Compliance: Following all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company delivery protocols.
3. Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Delivery Man position, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (or 21 for certain vehicle types)
- Have legal authorization to work in the jurisdiction where services will be provided
- Possess a valid driver's license or appropriate vehicle operator's license
- Own or have access to a reliable delivery vehicle (motorcycle, bicycle, scooter, or car)
- Have valid vehicle insurance as required by local laws
- Pass a background check and driving record review
- Have a smartphone with GPS capability and internet access
- Be physically capable of lifting and carrying items up to 15 kg
4. Independent Contractor Relationship
Delivery partners with Potolo are typically engaged as independent contractors, not employees. This means:
- You have flexibility in choosing when and how often to work
- You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses
- You are not entitled to employee benefits unless otherwise specified in your contract
- You may work with other delivery platforms simultaneously (subject to local regulations)
- The specific nature of your engagement will be detailed in your service agreement
Note: In some jurisdictions, delivery partners may be classified as employees. Your contract will reflect the appropriate classification based on local labor laws.
5. Compensation & Earnings
5.1 Base Earnings
Delivery partners earn based on:
- Per-Delivery Fee: A base rate for each completed delivery
- Distance-Based Pay: Additional compensation for longer delivery distances
- Time-Based Pay: Compensation for delivery duration in certain cases
- Peak Hour Bonuses: Increased rates during high-demand periods
5.2 Tips & Incentives
- You keep 100% of customer tips
- Performance bonuses for high ratings and completion rates
- Referral bonuses for bringing new delivery partners to Potolo
- Quest bonuses for completing a certain number of deliveries within a timeframe
5.3 Payment Schedule
Earnings are typically paid weekly via direct deposit or digital wallet. Instant cashout options may be available for a small fee.
6. Working Hours & Flexibility
- You have the freedom to choose your own working hours and schedule
- You can log in and out of the Potolo app at your convenience
- Peak hours (lunch, dinner, weekends) typically offer higher earning potential
- No minimum or maximum hour requirements (unless specified in your contract)
7. Vehicle Requirements & Insurance
7.1 Vehicle Standards
Your delivery vehicle must:
- Be in good working condition with regular maintenance
- Meet local safety and emissions standards
- Have proper lighting, brakes, and safety equipment
- Be registered and licensed as required by law
7.2 Insurance Requirements
- You must maintain valid vehicle insurance as required by local regulations
- Commercial or rideshare insurance may be required depending on jurisdiction
- Potolo may provide supplemental insurance coverage during active deliveries (varies by location)
- You are responsible for any damages or accidents not covered by insurance
8. Training & Onboarding
New delivery partners will receive:
- App Training: Comprehensive guidance on using the Potolo delivery app
- Safety Training: Best practices for safe driving and delivery procedures
- Customer Service Training: Tips for providing excellent customer experiences
- Delivery Kit: Insulated bags and branded materials (where applicable)
9. Performance Standards & Ratings
Delivery partners are expected to maintain:
- High Acceptance Rate: Accepting a reasonable percentage of delivery requests
- Low Cancellation Rate: Minimizing order cancellations after acceptance
- Customer Ratings: Maintaining a minimum average rating (typically 4.5+ out of 5)
- On-Time Delivery: Delivering orders within the estimated timeframe
Failure to meet performance standards may result in account deactivation or termination.
10. Code of Conduct
All Delivery Partners must:
- Maintain professional behavior and respectful communication with customers and staff
- Dress appropriately and maintain personal hygiene
- Handle food and packages with care to prevent damage or contamination
- Respect customer privacy and property
- Refrain from consuming, tampering with, or stealing customer orders
- Not operate under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations
11. Safety & Risk Management
Your safety is paramount. Always prioritize your personal safety over delivery speed. Do not accept deliveries to unsafe locations, and report any safety concerns immediately through the app.
- Follow all traffic laws and wear appropriate safety gear (helmets for motorcycles/bicycles)
- Avoid distracted driving; use hands-free devices for communication
- Report accidents, injuries, or vehicle damage immediately
- Use contactless delivery options when requested or necessary
- Be aware of weather conditions and adjust driving accordingly
12. Confidentiality & Data Protection
Delivery partners must:
- Keep all customer information (names, addresses, phone numbers) confidential
- Not use customer data for any purpose other than completing deliveries
- Comply with data protection laws and Potolo's privacy policies
- Not share proprietary business information or trade secrets
13. Equipment & Expenses
As an independent contractor, you are responsible for:
- Vehicle purchase, lease, or rental costs
- Fuel, maintenance, and repair expenses
- Insurance premiums
- Mobile phone and data plan costs
- Any parking fees or tolls incurred during deliveries
Potolo may provide insulated delivery bags and branded materials at no cost or for a refundable deposit.
14. Termination & Deactivation
Either party may terminate the engagement:
- At-Will Termination: You may stop delivering at any time without notice
- For Cause: Potolo may deactivate your account for policy violations, poor performance, safety concerns, or fraudulent activity
- Account Reactivation: In some cases, deactivated accounts may be eligible for reactivation after addressing the issues
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your engagement with Potolo will be resolved through:
- Good faith negotiation between the parties
- Mediation by a neutral third party (if negotiation fails)
- Arbitration as specified in your service agreement

16. Amendments
Potolo reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Delivery partners will be notified of material changes via the app or email, and continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which you perform delivery services for Potolo, without regard to conflict of law principles.
